With Netflix providing a ton of options for movies, ‘what to watch?’ is a question faced by us daily. Netflix keeps adding movies to its collection. We have made a Netflix movie list that was added this week and will make a good watch.

Back To The Future – Parts I, II & III – (1985 – 1990)

The classic time-travel themed science fiction movie series is worth a watch even after thirty years after the release. The story starts in the first movie when a 17-year-old Marty McFly is transported back in time from 1985 to 1955, thanks to a time machine built from a DeLorean by a scientist. When terrorists kill the scientist, and Marty’s young mother falls in love with him, a weird paradox is created that has to be prevented. The movies, along with sci-fi stuff, also have a dash of comedy, that makes the series fun to watch. The series was directed by Robert Zemeckis and starred Michael J. Fox, Christopher Lloyd, Lea Thompson, and Crispin Glover. 


It is a movie mainly based on the American civil war. While there are many good movies about the civil war, this one can be considered the best of them. The movie tells the story of the soldiers from the 54th Massachusetts Infantry Regiment, the first African-American regiment in the American Civil War. The movie is exceptionally well-crafted, and the screenplay is based on the books Lay This Laurel and One Gallant Rush by Lincoln Kirstein and Peter Burchard respectively. The movie falls under the genres of Biography, Drama, War, and History. The movie was directed by Edward Zwick and starred Matthew Broderick, Denzel Washington, Cary Elwes, and Morgan Freeman. The movie has a runtime of about 122 minutes. The movie won three Academy awards along with several other awards.

Grease (1978)

The movie is a romantic musical comedy written by Bronte Woodard and directed by Randal Kleiser. It is based on a musical released in 1971 with the same name. The film follows the love story between Danny Zuko and Sandy Olsson. Danny is a greaser while Sandy is an Australian transfer student. The film emphasizes the different perspectives of men and women towards a relationship and the conflicts that are created as a result of this. In the film, Danny has a pretence of a bad boy around his friends that is far from reality. It hurts Sandy and creates a drift among them. The confusions that follow are fascinating to watch on the screen. The movie features John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, and Jeff Conaway in pivotal roles.

Muppets Most Wanted (2014)

It should be on your list of movies to watch if you love The Muppets, the most loved ensemble cast of puppet characters. Muppets Most Wanted is the eighth theatrical film featuring the Muppets. The movie is directed by James Bobin and stars Ricky Gervais, Ty Burell, and Tina Fey. The Muppet performers in the movie are performers Steve Whitmire, Eric Jacobson, Dave Goelz, Bill Barretta, David Rudman, Matt Vogel, and Peter Linz. In the movie, a guy named Dominic Badguy, which is pronounced as ‘badjee’, suggests the Muppets go on a Europe tour with him as the tour manager. At the same time, criminal mastermind Constantine has escaped from a Siberian Gulag. As the movie unfolds, the Muppets unknowingly get involved with Constantine.

Red Dragon (2002)

If you love psychological thriller movies, this is one of the must-watch movies. It is a hit psychological horror film. Red Dragon is based on a novel by Thomas Harris called by the same name. It was released in 1981. The film, although independent, is a prequel to the movies Silence of the Lambs and Hannibal that were released in 1991 and 2001 respectively. The film casts big stars like

Anthony Hopkins, Edward Norton, Ralph Fiennes, Harvey Keitel, Emily Watson, Mary-Louise Parker, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Brett Ratner directs the movie. The film involves the horrors of the story of a psychiatrist, a serial killer, and an FBI agent. The movie was received pretty well by the critics as well as the audiences.

The Producers (2005) 

The Producers is a musical comedy directed by Susan Stroman and starring Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Uma Thurman, and Will Ferrell. The movie is a remake of a 1967 movie with the same name. The music, which is an important part of this movie, is given by Mel Brooks and Glen Kelly. The movie was not a commercial success but gained critical acclaim. The movie tells the story of a producer whose latest theatrical music by the name Funny Boy has flopped recently. He hires a boy named Leo Bloom as his accountant. He is neurotic and comes with a plan to generate revenue through flops. The producer declines the offer. However, Leo Bloom continues to dream about a flop Broadway producer and earn a fortune.

Casino Royale (2006)

Who doesn’t love a James Bond movie? Everybody does! Casino Royale is one of the top movies and most-watched movies in the James Bond series. Watching the iconic 007 on-screen is always fun and pleasurable. Casino Royale is based on the 1953 novel ‘Casino Royale’ by Ian Fleming. This film is the third screen adaptation of an Ian Fleming novel. Another speciality of this movie is that it stars Daniel Craig as James Bond for the first time. The film is directed by Martin Campbell and written by Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and Paul Haggis. The film portrays the initial days of James Bond’s career as he is struggling to earn his license to kill. He currently is on an assignment to bankrupt Le Chiffre in a Casino Royale. Chiffre is a terrorist financier.

Quantum of Solace (2008)

It is the second James Bond movie to be added to the collection of Netflix this week. Also, it is the second appearance of Daniel Craig as the beloved MI6 spy James Bond, or 007, as he is famously known. Quantum of Solace is a direct sequel to the movie Casino Royale. It might be the reason both of these movies were brought on Netflix together. The movie is directed by Marc Forster and written by Paul Haggis, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade. In this movie, Bond seeks vengeance for his lady lover, Vesper Lynd. Camille Montes assist him. She too is seeking revenge for the murder of her entire family. Their search leads them to a wealthy businessman who is a member of the rogue Quantum Organization.

Blaze (2018)

The 2018 movie Blaze is a biography of the life of the musician Blaze Foley. Ethan Hawke directs the movie. Also, the movie is produced by Ethan Hawke, Ryan Hawke, Jake Seal, and John Sloss. Ethan Hawke and Sybil Rosen write the screenplay. The screenplay is adapted from the memoir Living in the Woods in a Tree: Remembering Blaze by Rosen. The movies stars, Ben Dickey, Alia Shawkat, Sam Rockwell, Steve Zahn, Kris Kristofferson, and Richard Linklater in pivotal roles. The life of Blaze is narrated on the screen, as two of his friends are being interviewed on the radio. Foley was the unsung hero and songwriting legend of the Texas outlaw music movement. The movie spans across three different periods of his life.
